Race Recap: Chattanooga Head Race
Chattanooga, TN - Junior and Masters Rower traveled to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Chattanooga Head Race. The 2nd regatta of the fall season, each event was 5000m. The team, competing against some tough and fast competition, came home with 2 second place finished, and 2 third place finishes.
The Women’s Junior Varsity 8+ kicked off the day by racing at 9:00am in event #3. Their finish time was (18:37.7), placing 8th out of 17. This was a great improvement from the last race where their finish time was (21:22.00).

The MVB (Most Valuable Boat) of the day goes to the Men’s Junior Novice 4+. The boys had a tremendous race of speed, form, and technique. The boat took the race by storm and finished in (20:40.8), beating their previous race time of (22:36.0). They took 3rd place out of 10. 1st place’s finish time was (20:29.7).
The Chattanooga Head Race had some great competition that put PTCRC’s abilities to the test. The crew has made immense progress, but knows what they need to keep improving.

Peachtree City Rowing Club will be traveling to Chattanooga, TN on November 4th & 5th for the Head of the Hooch. This is PTCRC’s A race of the Fall 2017 racing season. Hooch is the 2nd largest Head Race in the United States. There will be as much as 80 boats in some events.
