Introduction To Rowing Program

Email us at to check on our next class or other options. Let's get rowing!

Thank you for your interest in the "Introduction To Rowing" program.  We have three options for youth rowing.
  1. Introduction to Rowing (ITR) course - This is a non-competitive course. If you're not able to join the Novice Competitive Team this season and would like to begin learning about rowing now, ITR is an option!
    • Eight weekly Saturday sessions, 10am-12pm.
    • The first two to three sessions will provide basic technical instruction. The participants will then focus on advancement of the rowing stroke and will  complete the program experiencing a part of our competitive team's training plan.
    • Dates are 9/10, 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22 and 10/29. Even on rainy days, we have training options!  However, should inclement weather require the coach to cancel a session, participants will be provided with makeup session details.
    • A minimum of 8 total registrants are required to conduct the program.  Once the minimum number of participants is registered, you'll receive an email confirming the session.
    • Program fee is $200 (includes in/out-of-county fees).
    • Participants should wear form fitted clothing, bring lots of water and wear sunscreen. Sneakers are required. Hats and sunglasses are recommended.
    • Contact with any questions.
To join a team and advance more quickly, check out our most popular youth options below.

2.  Novice Competitive Team - Most of our rowers join the Novice Competitive Team with no experience. In fact, our coaches recommend it! This is the best and most recommended starting place.  The coaches train all aspects of rowing, including coaching athletes from having no rowing experience, all the way to the US Rowing National Championships!  Joining the Novice Competitive Team provides the full team experience, learning the sport and the opportunity to achieve Varsity more quickly.  For Novice information and registration, visit Youth Programs.

3. Varsity Competitive Team - Consists of High Schoolers who have advanced and qualified for Varsity placement. For Varsity information and registration, visit Youth Programs.

Peachtree City Rowing is a not-for-profit, 501c3 organization established in August 2015 to encourage and further the instruction, improvement and competition in and the enjoyment of the art of rowing.  Fees raised through our programs are used to fund coach's salaries, equipment leases, insurance and other operational expenses. Donations are tax deductible.
