Novice Rowing (Spring 2018)
This program is designed youth who participated in the Fall Novice and Winter Novice program. This is open to any youth in grades 6-12. Rowers who have not raced at an official regatta are considered Novice rowers.
This 4 day a week program will continue to teach the fundamentals of rowing and provide an opportunity to race at 2-4 spring regattas. Programming is designed to develop proper technique and skills, improve fitness and prepare your child to enjoy the sport of rowing for a lifetime to come.
The Novice Program may include youth in grades 6 - 12, depending on their rowing experience. All rowers are considered "novice" their first full year (spring/ fall or fall/ spring) of racing.
The schedule will be:
February 26, 2018 - April 29, 2018
Monday: 4:30 - 6:30PM
Wednesday: 4:30 - 6:30PM
Friday: 4:30 - 6:30PM
Saturday: 9:30 - 11:30AM
Fees are $940.00 for the spring season. For Fayette county residents, select in-county fee, a $5.00 impact fee will be added for a total of $945.00. For residents outside of Fayette county, a $25 impact fee will be automatically added and the total fees will be $965.00. Don't delay - after February 25, late registration fee of $50.00 will be added to the registration.
BY REGISTERING FOR THIS PROGRAM:
- You confirm you have read and accept the conditions identified within the USRowing Waiver Form.
- You confirm that your child can swim and that, in accordance with the Safety Manual, you understand that each participant must pass a swim test which will be conducted prior to the first practice session.
- You understand that additional fees may be charged for away regattas to cover the cost of entry fees and travel costs for boat transportation (in the past, these fees have ranged between $25 - 40 per regatta).
- You understand that uniforms are required for all racers and that uniforms will be purchased directly from the vendor.
